I am seriously behind on processing from my work in 2017 from Brickhouse Observatory. This is a nice image from January 2017 of the Flame Nebula, a part of the Orion Molecular Cloud, that is massive and contains the Horsehead, etc. The bright Star is Alnitak one of the three stars of the Belt of Orion. The red areas are Ha emission nebulas while the blue areas are from a cloud of gas in front of us bright blue stars from the newly formed open star cluster. Some of these are only a million years ago. It is about 1400 light years from us.
Enjoy!

Hi Jeff. I am super glad that they enjoyed it. I guess the 10 years of practice I have had is starting to kick in.

Aubrey,
Your image was so good that when you sent it and I saw it on my iPhone, I interrupted a conversation with my wife and daughter to show it to them and they were stunned by its beauty.
You are good. Admit it!
Jeff
