Red Channel Symptom
Author Last Post
Chad,

Another comment, there is not much red in NGC 6946, and what is there is going to be in Hydrogen Alpha so your camera will block it. Unless you are in a very low light pollution area, an unmodded camera is not going to get much from that target.

Chad,

When you send images over an internet connection I strongly recommend you convert them to jpg files and limit their size. 32 megs over a poor connection takes an eternity. If you convert the file I will be glad to take a look.

I believe I have found a more specific symptom of my issue of not seeing nebula. I have attached a 10 minute frame of NGC 6946. I looked at the red channel in photo shop and every subsequent frame I own; they all look similar.
