NGC697 PORTION OF THE VEIL NEBULA
Author Last Post

I agree, but once you dig down its not near as pretty as the old stuff.

Hope all is well with you Jeff. Hope to see you out sometime at Meyers.

Thanks, Aubrey.

I still find it amazing that an amateur with amateur equipment can dig so deeply into interstellar objects, far deeper than the best government-funded NASA equipment could do only a couple of decades ago.

Jeff

This is a portion of the Veil Nebula in the South East corner of Cygnus Constellation. It has a lot of detail that is not normally seen in a small telescope. This view shows lots of clumps of gas, dust and material that is part of the exploded star that normally does not reflect light. This reminds me of an aerial view of the Meyer field with the sandy soil reflecting light and the green trees blocking the other light.

This was done on my QHY16200 Camera and the AT 10" RC Telescope on the AP 1200 Equatorial Mount.

Hope you enjoy.

Aubrey
