MPEC has put out a request for astrometry on comet PANSTARS C/2017 U1 to better resolve its orbit. Based on the few dozen observations so far, there is a strong chance we may be seeing the first recorded interstellar object to enter the solar system. Ephemeris is below:

Based on Willies message it is 21.5 Mag so that means it will be marginal.

I quoted incorrectly, it is 21.3, but that is still too dim for us IMO.

In my recollection, the dimmest we have ever done astrometry was 19th mag.
