M27 DUMBBELL NEBULA LATEST
abrickhouse

Been hard to get caught up on image processing. For the Last 6 weeks I've been working on getting the items blown out by a lightning strike on W1 back in May when we had multiple storms rolling through. That was followed up by the tornadoes in Temple that further tied me up. But I am making progress.

But in any event, here is an interesting view of the planetary nebula called M27. This was shot with my ATIK 16200 camera on the AP 1200 mount. The telescope was the Astrotech 10" RC telescope.

This was shot last November on the third. It was a good night.

M27 is a planetary nebula in the constellation Vulpecula, at a distance of about 1360 light-years. Interestingly, it was the first such nebula to be discovered, by Charles Messier in 1764.

Very nice, Aubrey. Nice round stars and color thru the image.
