Nexstar Evo 9.25 maintenance assitance
Aaron Davila

Hello I have a 9.25 Nexstar Evo and I was wanting to see if someone could maybe assist or maybe "coach" or "encourage" some things I know are doable at home but I am both too scared to do and never done these things before. The scope is 4 yrs old and I don't feel like shipping to Celestron to fix and I not have the scope for who knows how long (Months?) and no telling how much it would cost.

Two things I know I need to address on the scope is a "haze" on the interior of the OTA/ corrector plate interior (OTA cleaning) probably original from the factory and Celestron dismissed it as moisture (Still present 3 years later), I have seen videos on how to do it, but still am too scared to open it up and do it myself.

The other is the scope has an excessive amount of play in the ALT head, and with the scope being a little front heavy and the clutch tightened it can still be tilted a small amount. Also I have seen a video about things to check but it wasn't specifically for a Nexstar Evo mount.

Thank you for anyone that can assist, I can meet anyone in the area and can bring my own tools.
