Excellent image, as usual with your work, Aubrey!

Very impressive Aubrey.

You've managed to capture quite a bit of detail, and show it all in a beautiful array of color.

Thanks for sharing.

Johnny

This is one of the prettiest galaxies that we can see within the range of a 10" telescope and it is very active with the red areas having lots of star formation. It is one of the local group of galaxies including the Milky Way, M31 and others. I imaged this with my QHY-16200 and 10" RC Telescope in January 2021.

M33 has a low surface brightness but it is claimed that some with excellent vision on a dark site can see it with the naked eye. I am not one of those. I had trouble finding it and seeing it with my first telescope, (Meade 8" Cad.) This was when I realized that I was going to have to make the move to "Go to" telescope. People like Dave Eisfeldt and Johnny Barton and others could find objects in the dark sky very well. Right then I realized that it might take me 10 years to get to their skill level (if I could).

But you can only get this type of view with a camera and a very nice night. The Turner Research station (Meyer Observatory) can still deliver some good skies even though its not as well situated as it would have been 6 miles to the west.

I still enjoy trying to improve my images of the classic objects in the night sky.

Enjoy

Aubrey
