Finally got some breaks from the clouds early this morning around 3:15 am. Cirrus clouds were still around as evident from the glow around the bright star Tau Heculis only 5 arc min. from comet C/2015 V2 Johnson. This is a combo of 2X60 sec. exp. @ 3200 iso. The comet will still be near the star tonight, which makes it an easy find if you have to point and shoot like me. However, it will be well after midnight before it gets very high in the East, and clouds are forecast to move in; bummer.
I stayed up to see if I could see comet 73P Schwassmann-Wachmann one last time before it gets too close to the Sun and too low for me to see. Had to shot this thru the tree limbs this time, (glad the leaves haven't budded out yet) but did manage to retrieve one decent 60 sec. shot @ 6400 iso. during twilight around 5:40 am. It looks like both fragments, BT and 73P are still flying in tandem.
